Let’s Go Deep

It was December 2020, just before the new year. My eyes shot wide open in the dead of the night. An idea so strong and crystal clear had taken over and got me SO EXCITED I couldn’t sleep for another 2 hours.

The idea was this…

I would dive deep into my lost Philippine heritage. I was going to discover all the nuances of my culture that I was never taught growing up and share those discoveries with the world.

And for whatever reason, I was going to do it on YouTube.

I knew this idea had to be from some place deep within my subconscious (perhaps even a spiritual realm???). It was so left field. Something I had never thought about doing until that very moment.

The feeling was like meeting a complete stranger, but somehow you knew from the very first sight that this person would change your destiny forever… like a soulmate.

You should know that at the time, I didn’t even watch YouTube. I knew nothing about filming vlogs, and I had no idea how to begin the journey of learning about my family’s traditions and customs. Everyone I saw on YouTube was a trained “authority”. I was an absolute beginner.

So, here we are at the beginning of 2022. I’m proud to announce the first episode of “FILIPINA. AMERICAN. CREATIVE.” launches on my YouTube channel today.

Each episode presents my discoveries about my Philippine heritage, its people and its story. I’m offering a personal perspective that is dedicated to uplifting Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the Philippines, in the United States and around the world.

And don’t worry… I’m still singing and releasing new music. I’ll always keep you in the know about that, too.
