Filipina women of the World

The Philippines had many history-making firsts this last year.

🥇 The nation celebrated its first ever Olympic Gold Medal when champion weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz lifted nearly 500 pounds over her head… TWICE.

🥇 Journalist and author Maria Ressa was awarded the Philippines’ first Nobel Peace Prize for being a “fearless defender of the freedom of expression.”

🥇 The Nobel Peace Center hosted an honorary exhibition created by photo journalist Hannah Reyes Morales to highlight Maria Ressa’s efforts.

In honor of (Filipina) Women’s History Month, I’m proud to share these incredible women of the Philippines with you.

They are living examples of what is possible when you believe in your strength and know you can do good for the world.
