Who Is Larry?

If you’re like most people who went to school in the U.S., you’ve probably NEVER heard of Larry Itliong.

Or his important role in the Farm Worker’s Labor Movement.

Or the fact that he worked closely with Cesar Chavez during the Delano Grape Strike that led to the biggest change in farm labor history.

Most people don’t know about Larry… until now. 

Thanks to Filipino-driven creations like “Larry, The Musical”, which premiered in San Francisco last weekend, the world is finally learning that a Filipino was pivotal to U.S. American history.

I’m happy to share with you in this week’s episode what the musical taught me about Larry Itliong, as well as offer my review of this show that was created, produced and performed all by Filipinos.
