T’Boli

The T'Boli people of Southern Mindanao, Philippines are entrenched in a rich lineage of culture. From dance and music to gardening and cooking, the spirit of the T'Boli can be felt everywhere.

When I went to visit T'Boli culture worker Lyn Buti, owner of Gonoyebong, I captured every moment of my experiences there with her.

But when I came home several weeks later, I accidentally DELETED all the video footage from my epic trip to Mindanao. 😭 🤦🏻‍♀️

Luckily, I caught footage on another camera and today’s video is what's left. Interestingly enough, what I believe are the most important moments of my trip were saved, including a heartfelt interview I had with Lyn and the amazing Mebal, or full moon ceremony.

I have never felt so welcome and so cared for than during my time with Lyn. And I am forever grateful that she allowed me to reconnect to our Motherland in this very special way.
